Expecting a baby in Winchester? I’m Kristie, a doula based just up the road in Basingstoke, and Winchester sits comfortably within my 50-mile area. I support Winchester families through pregnancy, birth and those precious, sometimes overwhelming, early weeks.
Doula support for Winchester families
As a doula, I offer non-clinical emotional, physical and practical support. I’m not part of your medical team, and I work alongside your midwife and maternity team rather than instead of them. My role is to help you feel prepared, listened to and looked after, so you can focus on you and your baby.
Whether you’re planning to give birth at Royal Hampshire County Hospital, at home, or you’re still weighing up your options, I’ll help you explore what matters to you and put your wishes into a clear, simple birth preferences plan.
Ways I can support you
- Before birth: 1-to-1 pregnancy education in three relaxed sessions, a parents refresher course if this isn’t your first baby, birth preference writing and support for your partner.
- During birth: on-call labour support, or a caesarean birth package if you have a planned caesarean.
- After birth: postnatal home visits, feeding support, practical help around the house and a night nanny service.
A little about me
I’m university-educated in maternity care, with 6 years as a senior NHS maternity support worker, and I’m a mum of six with 18 years of motherhood behind me. I’m fully insured, DBS checked and IREC3 trained. You can read more about me here.
Having been through six pregnancies and births myself, I know there’s no one right way to do this. I’ll never judge your choices. I’ll simply help you make them with confidence.
Is Winchester too far?
Not at all. Winchester is well within the area I cover, and some sessions, such as birth preference writing or partner support, can also be done online if that suits you better. We can talk through travel and timings at your free consultation.
Prices
All my services are clearly priced on my prices list, and flexible payment plans are available.
What happens at a free consultation?
We’ll chat for around 30 minutes. You can tell me about your pregnancy so far, anything you’re excited or anxious about, and what kind of support you’re imagining. I’ll explain how I work, answer your questions and suggest the services that would suit you best. There’s no pressure and no obligation, just a friendly chat.
If you’d like to go ahead, we’ll agree a plan together, including a payment plan if that would help, so you always know where you stand.
Not in Winchester? I also support families in Basingstoke, Andover and Reading & Newbury.
