If you live in Reading, Newbury or elsewhere in West Berkshire, you’re within my 50-mile area around Basingstoke. I’m Kristie, and I’d love to support you through pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood.
Doula support across Reading and Newbury
My job as a doula is to offer non-clinical emotional, physical and practical support, so you feel informed, confident and cared for. I work alongside your midwife and maternity team, and I never replace them. I’m there for you as a constant, familiar presence.
Many families in the area give birth at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, and others plan to birth at home. Wherever you’re planning to have your baby, I’ll help you prepare, understand your choices and write birth preferences that reflect what matters to you.
Services available
- 1-to-1 pregnancy education classes (three 2-hour sessions)
- Feeding education, including colostrum harvesting, with a free kit
- Birth preference writing, partner support and appointment support
- 24/7 on-call labour support and a caesarean birth package
- Postnatal home visits, practical help and a night nanny service
Online options
If the journey doesn’t suit you for every session, some of my services can be delivered online. That’s handy for partner support or birth preference writing in the evenings once little ones are in bed.
About me
I’m university-educated in maternity care, with 6 years as a senior NHS maternity support worker, and I’m a mum of six with 18 years of motherhood behind me. I’m fully insured, DBS checked and IREC3 trained. You can read more about me here.
Over 18 years of motherhood and six very different births, I’ve learned that feeling supported changes everything. I’ll listen, guide and empower you to have the positive experience you deserve.

Planning ahead from Berkshire
Because you’re a little further from my Basingstoke base, we’ll make a clear plan for labour together: how and when to contact me, how long it usually takes me to reach you, and what to do in the meantime. Having that plan in place means you can relax, knowing I’m on my way when you need me.
After your baby arrives, postnatal home visits can be booked by the hour, so you can have as much or as little help as you like, whether that’s feeding support, a chance to talk through your birth, or simply someone to hold the baby while you have a shower and a hot cup of tea.
Also covering Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover.
